A need for safe drinking water in the world is
inexhaustible. Every bit of effort made for a person or group of people
to have clean water is to be celebrated that lives have been saved.
Through the efforts of Hanga Abbey and the generosity of benefactors a
village (Mhepai) of 2,000 people had clean water drawn from a nearby
mountain this past June 2013 (here in southern Tanzania). We are very
grateful to all who donated for the cause.
The villagers are grateful to all the donors. They
are proud to have clean water a project of their sweat, partly. From the
very beginning to the end all villagers participated in the work of
making the project come into fruition. They gathered sand and gravel to
build a dam where water was to be tapped from to bring it to the low
ground. They dug the trench and laid pipes. All by hands!
